What is Google Category Mapping?

Google Category Mapping lets you assign specific Google product categories to your products based on:

  • 🏷️ Product tags

  • πŸ—‚οΈ Product types

  • 🏒 Product vendors

This ensures that your products are submitted with the correct category format recognized by Google Shopping.

How to Add a Google Category Mapping

  1. Choose GMC Sync in Menu

    • Click β€œProduct Setting” from sidebar menu

    • Click β€œAdd category” from the Google Category section.

  2. Choose Mapping Type

    • Select one of the following options:

      • πŸ”˜ Product tag – Map based on product tags in your store.

      • πŸ”˜ Product type – Use Shopify's product type for mapping.

      • πŸ”˜ Product vendor – Assign categories based on your vendors.

  3. Choose Product Tag / Type / Vendor

Use the dropdown to select the specific tag, type, or vendor you'd like to map.
